I just got a chance to review Rush's "Snakes & Arrows Live" DVD which, if you remember, we at Forrester Media were involved in shooting. Our part is what they are now calling, "Oh Atlanta! The Authorized Bootlegs". We shot it last fall at the then new Verizon Amphitheater. It makes up the entire 3rd DVD of extras.
The shoot was a large multi camera HD shoot with 7 cameras – 2 of them on Jibs, 2 of them robotic and the other 3 on tripods with long lenses. Everyone of them needed to be fed time code, black burst and reference audio and they were scattered all over the venue. On top of that we crewed the shoot, provided a noise canceling communication system, created a viewing station for the director, managed the set up and tear down and came in on budget.
We capturing great pictures of the show but it was a grueling day. As I remember it, it was a 15 hour shoot and set up day but it's all worth it when you see the finished project. Check out the DVD if you get the chance.
